Vice Admiral Roscoe Hillenkoetter



In 1947 Rear Admiral Hillenkoetter was Truman's first director of the CIA, which, most likely only coincidentally, had been newly created the same month as the alleged MJ-12 group.

In 1956, four years after the MJ-12 document was allegedly, NICAP was founded by former Navy physicist Thomas Townsend Brown. Hillenkoetter joined NICAPs board of directors following his retirement from the Navy in June 1957. During his tenure as a director, Hillenkoetter made a number of extraordinary statements attesting to the reality and seriousness of the UFO phenomenon.
